LGBTQ+ Support Group

Starting September 18th this group meets every other Wednesday from 6:30-7:30pm. Our goal is to provide confidential and safe space for teens to be able to connect with other LGBTQ+ youth, give and receive support, express their individual concerns related to coming out, relationships, family, and school that are unique to the LGBTQ+ youth. This group is facilitated by Sam Stuart, a licensed clinical social worker and member of the LGBTQ+ community. This group will last the duration of the school year. We have ongoing/open enrollment in the group so please contact Sam if you are interested in joining or would like more information. You must complete an intake with Sam prior to joining to group. You do not need to be in therapy at Towson Mental Health to join the group.

Social Skills Group

Starting September 16th this Social Skills Group will meet every Monday from 5:30pm-6:30pm. This group is for children ages 8-11 years old that struggle navigating social relationships. Children that may benefit from this group may be shy, withdrawn, feel socially awkward, or have trouble making friends. The goal of this group is to help your child better understand social expectations, explore their own thoughts and feelings, and learn how to form deeper more meaningful connections with their peers.

This group is facilitated by Meryl Stevenson, a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience and expertise in working with children struggling with developmental and intellectual disabilities. One of her passions is helping children grow and thrive in their social environments.
