Alyssa Gonzalez is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. She is passionate about helping clients build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop the skills needed to successfully navigate life's challenges. Alyssa provides a warm, supportive, and nurturing environment where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
After earning her Master of Education in School Counseling, Alyssa began her career working in an elementary and middle school setting in Baltimore City. It was there that she discovered her passion for supporting children and families through both individual and group counseling. Throughout her work in schools, Alyssa collaborated closely with educators, administrators, and families to support students' emotional and behavioral well-being. She developed and facilitated social skills groups and interventions focused on anxiety, ADHD, depression, emotional regulation, and peer relationships.
Alyssa enjoys working with children of all ages and has particular expertise in supporting elementary and middle school students as they navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. She believes that children thrive when provided with the tools, support, and confidence to understand and manage their emotions. Alyssa has successfully implemented mindfulness-based programs designed to help children develop self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, resilience, and healthy coping strategies.
In addition to her work with children, Alyssa specializes in helping young adults and adults navigate life transitions, personal growth, and periods of uncertainty. Whether facing changes related to school, career, relationships, parenthood, or other major life events, Alyssa helps clients gain insight, build effective coping strategies, and develop the confidence needed to move forward. Her collaborative and empathetic approach empowers clients to better understand themselves while fostering growth, healing, and emotional well-being.
Alyssa utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, strengths-based practices, and solution-focused therapy. She believes that every individual is unique and tailors treatment to meet each client's specific needs, strengths, and goals.
