A native Marylander and graduate of The Bryn Mawr School, Hillary earned her Bachelor of Arts from Franklin & Marshall College and her Master of Social Work from Hunter College. Since earning her graduate degree in 2009, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings providing individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges.
Hillary specializes in working with teenagers and young adults as they navigate the unique demands of adolescence, emerging adulthood, and life transitions. She understands that these stages of life often bring increased academic, social, family, and personal pressures, and she works collaboratively with clients to build self-awareness, confidence, emotional resilience, and practical coping skills.
As a Certified Mediator, Hillary brings a unique perspective to her work with families. She has experience helping parents navigate separation, divorce, co-parenting relationships, and family conflict in a way that prioritizes communication, problem-solving, and the well-being of children. Hillary understands the emotional challenges that accompany family restructuring and works to help families move forward with greater understanding, stability, and confidence.
Hillary's therapeutic approach is warm, supportive, and individualized. She believes that meaningful change occurs within a strong therapeutic relationship and strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, client-centered therapy, and solution-focused interventions. Her goal is to help clients identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become the healthiest and most authentic versions of themselves.
