Nancy Love is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, student-athletes, and families. With more than 25 years of experience in public and private education settings, Nancy is passionate about helping young people navigate the academic, social, emotional, and performance-related challenges that often accompany adolescence and young adulthood. She has particular expertise in supporting high-achieving students, student-athletes, and individuals facing significant life transitions.
Throughout her career, Nancy has worked closely with young people as both an educator and counselor, helping them develop the confidence, resilience, and coping skills necessary to thrive in demanding environments. She understands the unique pressures that many students face, including academic expectations, social challenges, anxiety, perfectionism, identity development, and the stress associated with planning for the future.
Nancy brings a unique perspective to her work with student-athletes through her extensive experience as a highly successful lacrosse coach. Having spent years mentoring athletes and guiding families through the competitive recruiting process, she understands firsthand the emotional demands of balancing academics, athletics, social relationships, and personal well-being. She is particularly skilled at helping athletes navigate performance anxiety, confidence issues, burnout, injuries, team dynamics, college recruitment, and the transition to collegiate athletics.
Nancy recognizes that for many athletes, sports become a central part of their identity. She works collaboratively with clients to help them manage pressure, maintain perspective, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies while pursuing their goals. Her experience allows her to connect with athletes and their families in a meaningful way and provide support throughout every stage of the recruiting journey.
Nancy's therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices with practical, real-world strategies. She creates a warm, supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to overcome obstacles. Her goal is to help individuals strengthen relationships, manage stress effectively, build confidence, and discover their own path toward a balanced and fulfilling life.
